Very nice. Quite a soft Yassen. I wonder whether Blunt will actually take Yassen's warning seriously for more than one mission. It's odd, isn't it, the way that Blunt tries to make it seem as though Alex is the only one to be able to fulfil a mission, yet when he can't do the job, an alternative is found. I think that I quite dislike Blunt's character, to be honest. I do quite like Mrs Jones though. (Yassen and Alex go without saying, of course!)
It's also rather ironic that Yassen tells a 'clean' version of his relationship with John, believing that Alex isn't ready to hear the whole, yet Yassen doesn't really know who John was either.
Good story, anyway

Loved this fic! I might be reading it a year late but it's a nice set-up for Alex& Yassen's relationship.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked this. It was really my first long Yassen and Alex story. I never intended to write anything more of Yassen and Alex, but I enjoyed this so much, I decided to keep on writing other stories with them.

I really liked your story though it nearly made me cry in some parts (especially the part in the cemetary). You probably planned it as a one-shot but I would really like to read more of this.
PS: I'm a bit curious about part 14. Did Yassen really tell Jack the truth or did she get a modified version of it, too?
Author's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review. I'm glad you liked it. This was actually a series on LiveJournal and InsaneJournal last year - it ran from Dec 1 thru the 25th based on picture prompts on InsaneJournal. They were supposed to be drabbles, but the comms also permitted longer ficlets too. I hadn't intially planned on them turning into a story. It just worked out that way.
And yes, Yassen did tell Jack the entire truth, which is why Jack was willing to work with Yassen afterwards to help keep Alex safe - she trusted him.
I did end up close to tears in several places as I wrote it. I just felt like Alex never had time to grieve properly over Ian's death before he was shoved into the world of MI6, and this was his first Christmas without Ian there. Those 'firsts' after the death of a loved one are hard to get through at times.

Lovely. Especially the 23rd one. Almost moved me to tears. Thanks for writing this!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. The series was fun to write. There were several times when I found myself close to tears, including the one for Dec. 23.

Wow, that's a lot. I really liked them. It is sad how some looked like they could have been made into amazing stories. Any chance of you writing a longer version of some? :D Thank you for sharing, I loved the idea of Mrs Jones watching It's A Wonderful Live, lol.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I have a few stories planned around some of these - the entire Mdina 'vacation' where Yassen meets Helen, Jack's 'kidnap' by Alan Blunt, etc. Right now I have a major fic going on my LJ called 'Avoidance' (about 30k words) and it will be posted here when it's complete.
